Welcome to the Merzatta Print Club, August Edition! Here's a cheerful set of pieces that feel like summer to me.
They all feature one of my very favorite musicians, Tabea Zimmermann, who describes herself as "a musician who happens to play the viola."
The first one is her own arrangement, being originally written for the violin. The second is the final movement of a chamber work by Mozart - I got to play this piece when I was 11, at Kinhaven Jr. Session, a summer music camp in Vermont. And the last one sounds to me like a very happy horse, galloping along in sheer joy, and eventually collapsing in giddy exahustion.
{There are three pieces on this page, they'll play one after another.}
